How to Cook Sinigang na Baka
Sinigang na Baka is a tamarind base soup. Like the usual sinigang dish, this recipe use tamarind to make soup sour.
Ingredients
- 10 cups of water
- 1 kilo of beef brisket or cut into cubes
- 1 medium red union, quatered
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 140 grams sinigang mix
- 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
- 1 pc. raddish (labanos), thinly sliced
- 250 grams taro roots (gabi)
- 2 pcs. green chili (siling pang sigang)
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 bunch of string beans
- 1 bunch of kangkong
Instruction
- In a large pot boil beef for 5 minutes. Remove the liquid and scum then wash the meat.
- Replace the water enough to cover the meat.
- Bring to boil until the meat is cooked and tender.
- Add tomatoes, unions, black pepper and gabi. Boil until the gabi is cooked.
- Add string beans and radish, simmer until radish is cooked.
- Add sinigang mix, kangkong ang green chili.
- Season with salt or fish sauce and serve hot.
